Esteban González Pons (born 21 August 1964) is a Spanish politician. He is a member of the People's Party (PP). He has served in important roles in both Spanish and European politics.

Early Life and Education
Esteban González Pons was born in Valencia, Spain. He is married and has three children. He studied law at the University of Valencia. He earned a special degree in law and constitutional rights. Before becoming a politician, he also enjoyed playing chess.

González Pons has had a long career in politics. He has held several important positions. These roles include serving in the Spanish Senate and the European Parliament.
Starting in Spanish Politics
González Pons began his political career in 1993. He became a senator for the Valencia region. At that time, he was the youngest member of the Senate. He served as a senator until 2003.
After that, he became a minister in the regional parliament of Valencia. He was in charge of culture, education, and sport. From 2007 to 2008, he was a spokesperson for the People's Party. In 2008, he was elected to the Spanish Congress of Deputies. He represented the Valencia region there.
Serving in the European Parliament
In 2014, González Pons was chosen to run for the European Parliament. He was the second person on his party's list. He became a Member of the European Parliament (MEP). He worked on important committees. These included the Committee on Budgets and the Committee on Constitutional Affairs.
He also worked on groups that deal with relations with other countries. For example, he was part of the delegation for relations with Israel. He also joined groups focused on children's rights and small businesses.
In late 2014, he became the leader of the Spanish group within the European People's Party. This is a large political group in the European Parliament. He also helped lead meetings for justice and home affairs ministers. He even chaired a group that worked on issues related to Brexit.
After the 2019 elections, he helped create a plan for the European Parliament. This plan focused on topics like the rule of law and migration. In 2021, he was part of a team looking at changing rules for political groups.
In July 2024, he returned to the European Parliament. He now serves as a vice-president.
