Eugene "Pooh" Jeter III, born on December 2, 1983, is a talented American-Ukrainian basketball coach and former player. He is currently a player development coach for the Portland Trail Blazers in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He also helps manage the Rip City Remix in the NBA G League. Pooh Jeter played college basketball for the Portland Pilots. He also became a naturalized player for the Ukrainian national team, where his name was Yudzhin Dzheter.

Pooh Jeter's Basketball Journey
Eugene Jeter started his professional basketball career in 2006. He was not chosen in the 2006 NBA draft, but he still began playing. His first team was the Colorado 14ers in the NBA D-League.
Playing in Europe
In August 2007, Pooh Jeter moved to Europe. He signed a one-year contract with BC Kyiv in Ukraine. The next year, in August 2008, he moved to Spain. There, he joined ViveMenorca for a year.
In September 2009, Jeter signed with Unicaja Málaga. Later that year, in November 2009, he moved to Israel. He played for Hapoel Jerusalem for the rest of that season.
Time in the NBA
On July 21, 2010, Pooh Jeter got a big chance. He signed with the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. He played for them during the 2010-2011 season.
Returning to Europe and Asia
After his time in the NBA, Jeter returned to Spain in August 2011. He played for Joventut Badalona for the 2011–12 season.
In September 2012, Jeter moved to China. He signed with Shandong Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association. He played there for several years, even extending his contract in July 2014.
In March 2015, he briefly played for Limoges CSP in France. Then, in July 2015, he rejoined the Shandong Lions for another season. In October 2016, he signed with Tianjin Gold Lions. He also had a deal with a Turkish club, Beşiktaş, in April 2017, but he could not play for them. This was because FIBA, the international basketball federation, had banned the club from signing new players.
Later Career and Retirement
On January 1, 2021, Jeter signed with BC Dnipro in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague. Later that year, on October 28, 2021, he joined the NBA G League Ignite. He played there until he announced his retirement from playing on June 9, 2023.
Playing for Ukraine
In 2013, Pooh Jeter helped the Ukrainian national basketball team achieve something special. He helped them qualify for the 2014 FIBA World Cup for the first time since the Soviet Union broke apart. He was a key player, leading the team in assists during the 2013 EuroBasket tournament. He averaged 4.1 assists per game, showing his skill in setting up his teammates.
Coaching and Management
After retiring as a player, Pooh Jeter quickly moved into coaching and management. On June 9, 2023, he was hired by the Portland Trail Blazers. He became a player development coach, helping players improve their skills. He also took on a role as an assistant general manager for the Rip City Remix.
Family Life
Pooh Jeter has a famous older sister, Carmelita Jeter. She is a very successful sprinter. Carmelita has won two gold medals at the IAAF World Athletics Final.
