Eugene "Pooh" Jeter III (born December 2, 1983) is a basketball coach and former player. He was born in America but also became a citizen of Ukraine. He played college basketball for the Portland Pilots. He even played for the Ukraine national team! Today, he helps players develop their skills for the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA. He is also an assistant general manager for the Rip City Remix.

Pooh Jeter's Basketball Journey
Pooh Jeter was not chosen in the 2006 NBA draft. He started his professional basketball career with the Colorado 14ers. This team was part of the NBA D-League.
Playing in Europe
In 2007, Pooh moved to Europe. He signed a contract to play basketball in Ukraine for BC Kyiv. The next year, in 2008, he moved to Spain. He joined the team ViveMenorca.
In 2009, Pooh signed with Unicaja Málaga. Later that year, he moved to Israel. He played for Hapoel Jerusalem.
NBA and China
On July 21, 2010, Pooh Jeter signed with an NBA team. He joined the Sacramento Kings.
In 2011, Pooh returned to Spain. He played for Joventut Badalona for one season. In 2012, he moved to China. He signed with the Shandong Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association. He played for them for several years.
In 2015, he also played for Limoges CSP in France for a short time. He then went back to the Shandong Lions. In 2016, he signed with the Tianjin Gold Lions. He also tried to play for a Turkish team, Beşiktaş, but it did not work out due to league rules.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2021, Pooh Jeter signed with BC Dnipro in Ukraine. Later that year, he joined the NBA G League Ignite. This team helps young players get ready for the NBA. On June 9, 2023, Pooh Jeter announced that he was retiring from playing basketball.
International Play
In 2013, Pooh Jeter helped the Ukrainian national basketball team. They qualified for the 2014 FIBA World Cup for the first time in a long time. Pooh was a key player for them. He led the team in assists during the 2013 EuroBasket tournament. He averaged 4.1 assists per game.
Coaching and Management
After retiring as a player, Pooh Jeter started a new career. On June 9, 2023, he was hired by the Portland Trail Blazers. He became a player development coach for them. This means he helps players improve their skills. He also became an assistant general manager for the Rip City Remix.

Pooh Jeter has a famous sister! His younger sister is Carmelita Jeter. She is a very fast sprinter. Carmelita has won two gold medals in major international athletics events.
