Eugene Lawrence, born on June 22, 1986, is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for BC Novosibirsk in the Russian Basketball Super League 1. He is known for his skills as a Point guard.

College Basketball Journey
After a great high school basketball career, Eugene Lawrence went on to play for St. John's University. He played college basketball from 2004 to 2008. Lawrence is ranked third in total assists among all players in St. John's history. This shows how good he was at passing the ball to his teammates.
Professional Basketball Career
Eugene Lawrence started his professional career in 2008. He has played for many teams in different countries.
Early Career in Europe
From 2008 to 2009, Eugene played in Slovakia for SPU Nitra. He was named Player of the Year and helped his team win the championship.
He then moved to the Czech Republic for three seasons. From 2009 to 2011, he played for Prostějov. His team finished as runner-up in the Czech League twice. In his second season there, he was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the All-Star Game. His team also reached the last 16 in the EuroChallenge tournament during the 2010–11 season.
In the 2011–12 season, Lawrence joined ČEZ Nymburk. With this team, he won the Czech championship. He was also chosen for the All-Star team's starting five for the second year in a row.
Playing in Ukraine and Germany
From 2012 to 2014, Lawrence played in Ukraine for BC Goverla. He left the team during his second season due to difficult situations in the country. After that, he moved to Germany to play for Telekom Baskets Bonn.
Return to the Czech Republic
In September 2016, Lawrence returned to ČEZ Nymburk. During his three years with Nymburk, he helped the team win many titles. They won the National Basketball League (NBL) championship three times. They also won the Czech Cup three times.
Recent Teams
For the 2019–20 season, Lawrence signed with Ionikos Nikaias in the Greek Basket League. On January 8, 2020, he signed back with Telekom Bonn in Germany.
On December 15, 2020, Lawrence went back to Greece to play for Charilaos Trikoupis. He averaged about 5 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal per game there.
On February 8, 2022, Lawrence signed with BC Novosibirsk in the Russian Basketball Super League 1. He is also a junior varsity basketball coach at Eagle Academy for Young Men. He led his team to three championships.
