Eugene Boris Mirman (born July 24, 1974) is a Russian-American actor, comedian, and writer. He is well-known for his roles as Yvgeny Mirminsky on the show Delocated. He also voices Gene Belcher on the popular animated comedy Bob's Burgers.

About Eugene Mirman
His Early Life
Eugene Mirman was born Evgeniy Borisovich Mirman in Moscow, Russia, on July 24, 1974. At that time, Russia was part of the Soviet Union. His father, Boris Mirman, was a civil engineer. His family moved to the United States when Eugene was four years old. They settled in Lexington, Massachusetts. There, Eugene went to William Diamond Middle School and Lexington High School.
When his family arrived in the United States, his name was changed to an English version. His first name became Eugene, and his middle name, Borisovich, was shortened to Boris.
Eugene Mirman went to Hampshire College in Western Massachusetts. He created his own major there, which was comedy. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. For his final project, he performed a one-hour comedy show. He later returned to his high school in 2009 to give the graduation speech. He also gave the commencement speech at Hampshire College in 2012.
His Comedy Career
Eugene Mirman is famous for his unique style of comedy. He often performs in music clubs and theaters. This is different from many comedians who usually perform in comedy clubs.
Stand-Up Comedy
Eugene Mirman has released several comedy albums. His first album, The Absurd Nightclub Comedy of Eugene Mirman, came out in 2004. It was named one of the best albums of that year by The A.V. Club and Time Out New York. His second album, En Garde, Society, was released in 2006. In 2009, he released God Is a Twelve-Year-Old Boy with Asperger's. Another album, An Evening of Comedy in a Fake, Underground Laboratory, came out in 2012.
Mirman has performed at many big comedy festivals. These include the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival and the Just for Laughs Festival. He also co-produced a weekly comedy show called Invite Them Up. This show won a Nightlife Award. Famous comedians like David Cross and Aziz Ansari performed there. He also produced Pretty Good Friends, which was voted the best comedy night in New York City.
He has toured with other well-known comedians. These include Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, and Maria Bamford. He also opened for the comedy duo Flight of the Conchords. In 2015, he filmed a live stand-up special. It was released on Netflix as Eugene Mirman: Vegan on His Way to the Complain Store.
From 2008 to 2017, Eugene Mirman hosted his own event. It was called the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival.

Eugene Mirman has appeared on many television shows. He was on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and HBO's Flight of the Conchords. He played a character named Eugene on that show. He also appeared on Delocated and Comedy Central Presents.
He is widely recognized for his voice acting roles. He voices the character Gene Belcher on the animated series Bob's Burgers. He also voiced Cecil Tunt on FX's Archer. Mirman was a guest voice as Emperor Keith Merman in The Adventures of Puss in Boots. He also voices the character Burger on the animated show Apple & Onion.

In 2009, Eugene Mirman released a funny self-help book. It was called The Will to Whatevs.
He often appears on StarTalk Radio. This popular show is hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson. He has also been on the TV version of StarTalk. Mirman was a guest "expert witness" on John Hodgman's podcast Judge John Hodgman. In 2017, he played Benny the gerbil on the children's podcast This Podcast Has Fleas. He also hosted his own podcast, Hold On with Eugene Mirman, from 2017 to 2018.
His Family Life
On September 7, 2015, Eugene Mirman married Katie Westfall-Tharp. She was a set decorator for TV shows. They had one son, who was born in 2016. Katie Westfall-Tharp passed away on January 29, 2020. In 2023, Eugene Mirman married comedian Therese Plaehn.
