Evan Brophey (born December 3, 1986) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played as a centre. Evan played for famous teams like the Chicago Blackhawks and the Colorado Avalanche. Both of these teams are part of the National Hockey League (NHL), which is the top ice hockey league in North America.

Evan Brophey's Hockey Journey
Evan Brophey was chosen by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He was the 68th player picked overall. Before joining the NHL, Evan played in a junior league called the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
He was first drafted by the Barrie Colts in 2002. Later, he also played for the Belleville Bulls and the Plymouth Whalers. People remember him for scoring a special overtime goal in 2006. This goal helped his team, the Plymouth Whalers, win the West Division title.
Starting as a Pro Player
On May 15, 2007, Evan signed his first professional contract with the Blackhawks. In his first year as a pro, during the 2007–08 season, he played for the Rockford IceHogs. This team is linked to the Blackhawks in a league called the AHL. He scored his first professional goal on October 13, 2007.
On October 23, 2010, Evan played his very first game in the NHL. He played for the Chicago Blackhawks against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Time with the Colorado Avalanche
On July 8, 2011, Evan joined the Colorado Avalanche. He started the 2011–12 season playing for their AHL team, the Lake Erie Monsters. He was then called up to play for the Avalanche on December 16, 2011.
After playing three games with the Avalanche, Evan went back to the Lake Erie Monsters. He had a great game on December 28, setting a team record with four assists. An assist is when a player helps another player score a goal. That season, he scored a career-high 18 goals for the Monsters.
Playing in Europe
In 2013, Evan decided to play hockey in Europe. He signed a one-year contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Hockey League. He had a very good season there. His team won the title of Austrian Champions.
After that, Evan joined EHC München in Germany in 2014. He followed his coach, Don Jackson, to this new team. For the 2015–16 season, Evan returned to the Austrian Hockey League. He signed a one-year contract with the Graz 99ers.
After playing three seasons with the Graz 99ers, Evan moved to Slovakia. On May 17, 2018, he signed a one-year contract with HC Košice in the Slovak Extraliga. He finished his career playing for HSC Csíkszereda in Romania.
