A Passion for Collecting

Evanion loved collecting things! He gathered about 5,000 items related to popular entertainment and daily life from the Victorian era. These items are called ephemera, which means things that were only meant to be used for a short time, like tickets, flyers, or posters. This amazing collection is now kept at the British Library and is known as The Evanion Collection. The British Museum Library bought his collection in 1895.

Meeting Harry Houdini
