Exeland is a small village located in Sawyer County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In 2020, about 229 people lived there. It's a quiet place with a unique history behind its name!

A Look Back in Time

Exeland is special because it's the only community in the United States with this name. It started around 1907. A company called Arpin Lumber Company built a special logging railroad here. This new railroad crossed another one, the Wisconsin Central Railroad. Because the two railroads crossed each other like an "X," the community was named Exeland! It officially became a village in 1920.
