Export is a small town, called a borough, located in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It's completely surrounded by the larger area of Murrysville. In 2020, about 893 people lived in Export.

Export's Early Days and Coal Mining
Export got its name because of its history with coal! A post office opened here in 1892. The town was named "Export" because a lot of coal was dug up, or "mined," here and then sent out to other places.
You can still see parts of the old Westmoreland Coal Company's South (#2) mine. These remains are located behind the District Court building in Export. In 2018, a project uncovered three entrances to the mine. Another entrance was found in January 2019 by Michael Mance and Lou Corsi.

The United States Census Bureau says that Export covers about 0.4 square miles (1.04 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
Learning and Schools in Export
Students in Export attend schools within the Franklin Regional School District. This school district has two elementary schools, a middle school called Franklin Regional Middle School, and Franklin Regional High School.
Export is also home to Free Gospel Bible Institute. This is a special college that started in 1958. It trains people to become ministers and missionaries for the Holiness Pentecostal faith.
