Eyran Katsenelenbogen, born on July 5, 1965, is a talented American jazz pianist. He is known for his amazing piano skills and for mixing classical music with jazz. He has performed all over the world and taught many students.

Early Life and Training
Eyran Katsenelenbogen was born in 1965. His first piano teacher was Aida Barenboim. She was also the mother and teacher of the famous pianist and conductor, Daniel Barenboim.
Eyran continued his music studies at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. There, he learned from many great musicians. Some of his teachers included Ran Blake, Paul Bley, Fred Hersch, and Danilo Pérez. He also studied with George Russell and Gunther Schuller.
Eyran Katsenelenbogen is a descendant of Rabbi Meir Katzenellenbogen. This rabbi lived a long time ago, from about 1482 to 1565. He was born in a town called Katzenelnbogen. In 2012, Eyran played a special concert in that very town. The mayor invited him to celebrate the town's 700th birthday!

Eyran Katsenelenbogen is a pianist who trained in classical music. But he is famous for his jazz style. He has played concerts all over the world.

Teaching Music
Since 1996, Eyran Katsenelenbogen has taught at the New England Conservatory of Music (NEC). He works at their Preparatory School and School of Continuing Education in Boston. He has created new ways to teach improvisation. This helps students with different learning needs.
He was also the first piano teacher for Matt Savage. Matt is a jazz prodigy, meaning he was very talented at a young age. Eyran helped Matt start his music career when Matt was just seven. They even released a CD together called One is Not Fun, but 20 is Plenty.
Collaborations and Tours
Besides his solo concerts, Eyran has worked with other musicians. He has a special show called Pictures At An Exhibition: Classical Meets Jazz. For this show, he plays with Russian classical pianist Andrei Ivanovitch. They performed in Germany and Russia. Their first show in America was in Boston in 2009. A DVD of this performance was released later.
In 2014, Eyran toured the east coast of China with pianist Tal Zilber. Their tour was called Piano Fight. They played in many big theaters and centers across China. In 2015, Eyran went back to China for another tour. This one was called Jazz and Classical Highlights China Solo Tour. He dedicated this tour to his mother. During this tour, he played fifteen concerts in different places, including the Guangzhou Opera House.
In 2019, he released a solo album called Outstandards. He went on a concert tour for this album. He played in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East. Since 2020, Eyran Katsenelenbogen has been a member of the Recording Academy. This is the group that gives out the Grammy Awards!
