The Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) was a big organization that managed many different roller sports around the world. Its name in English means the International Federation of Roller Sports. It looked after sports like skateboarding, rink hockey, inline hockey, and artistic roller skating.
FIRS started in April 1924 in Montreux, Switzerland. It was created by two Swiss sports fans, Fred Renkewitz and Otto Myer. They had good connections with the International Olympic Committee.
More than 100 national sports groups from all over the world were part of FIRS. These groups were also connected to the International Skating Union.
In September 2017, FIRS joined with another group called the International Skateboarding Federation. They formed a new, bigger organization known as World Skate. Since 2017, World Skate has been in charge of the World Roller Games. These games bring together all the different roller sports from around the globe.
