Early Football in Turin
FBC Torinese was the fourth oldest football club in Turin's history. It was founded in 1894. The club wore shirts with amber and black stripes, and black socks. This was similar to their local rivals, Internazionale Torino. Internazionale wore white shorts, but Torinese wore black shorts.
Italian Football Championship Matches
FBC Torinese was one of only four clubs that played in the first ever Italian Football Championship in 1898. Torinese was just barely knocked out of the competition. They lost 2–1 to Internazionale in the semi-finals.
In the second season (1899), they had a similar result. They lost early in the competition to Ginnastica Torino, which was another club from Turin.
Reaching the Final
In 1900, something big happened: Internazionale Torino joined with Torinese. They decided to keep the Torinese name. This was a good decision! That season, the club reached the final of the Italian Championship for the first time.
On their way to the final, they beat big teams like Juventus and Milan. Against Milan, a player named Edoardo Bosio scored three goals, which is called a hat-trick. The final match was against Genoa. The score was 1–1 after regular time, but Genoa scored two more goals in extra time to win the championship.
After not playing for one season, the club returned to the growing league in 1902. They played in two exciting matches with lots of goals. First, they won 4–1 against Juventus. Then, they lost 4–3 in the semi-finals to Genoa, who went on to win the championship that year. Their last two seasons in the league were not as successful. They were defeated by Juventus both times.
The Club Stops Playing
In 1906, some people on the board (the leaders) of Juventus were thinking about moving their club out of Turin. This caused a big disagreement within Juventus. The president, Alfredo Dick, left the club. Several important players also left with him to start a new team called Football Club Torino.
Many players from FBC Torinese were convinced to join this new FBC Torino team. Because Torinese lost so many of its top players, it didn't have enough players to continue. So, FBC Torinese stopped playing and became defunct (meaning it no longer existed).
