Playing for Clubs
Fabrizio Poletti was born in Bondeno, Italy. He is mostly remembered for his long time playing with the Serie A club Torino. He joined Torino in 1962 when he was 18 years old.
Early Career and Torino Success
Before joining Torino, Poletti played on loan for AC Asti in Serie D during the 1961–62 season. This was his first time playing professionally. He scored 2 goals in 24 games for Asti.
He then returned to Torino for the 1962–63 season. His first game for Torino was on 21 October 1962, against Genoa in Serie A.
During his nine seasons with Torino, he played 275 official games. He scored 18 goals in Serie A and 4 goals in the Coppa Italia. He also scored 1 goal in European competitions. In total, he scored 23 goals for Torino. He is the club's 14th highest player by number of games played.
Poletti and his teammate Natalino Fossati were considered one of the best full-back pairs in Serie A. Their coach, Nereo Rocco, helped Poletti become a great player who could help both in defense and attack. Even though he was a defender, Poletti often took penalty kicks for his team, which helped him score many goals.
