Fairview is a small place in Tillamook County, Oregon, in the United States. It's not a city with its own government. Instead, it's called an unincorporated community.
Fairview is located about 2 miles (3.2 km) east of the town of Tillamook. It sits just south of Oregon Route 6, which is also known as the Wilson River highway.
Fairview Grange Hall
The Fairview Grange is a special building located near the Tillamook County Fairgrounds. It's on 3rd Street.
A Look Back: History
The Fairview Grange was started in 1895. It was the 273rd Grange to be formed in the entire country. It was also the very first Grange in Tillamook County.
The actual building, called the Grange hall, was built in 1916. It cost $2,000 back then. That would be like spending over $50,000 today!
Bringing it Back to Life: Restoration
Over many years, the Grange hall started to fall apart. It was almost torn down in 2014. But then, people from Oregon's state government stepped in to help.
Because of their help, work began in late 2021 to fix up the building. These repairs are expected to continue until the summer of 2022. This will help save the historic hall for future generations.
