Fallon Fox (born November 29, 1975) is an American former mixed martial artist (MMA). She is known for being the first openly transgender MMA fighter.
Early life and career
Fallon Fox was born in Toledo, Ohio. When she was 17, Fox learned about the term "transgender" and realized it described how she felt.
Fox got married at age 19, and she and her wife had a daughter. To support her new family, Fox joined the US Navy. She served as an operations specialist on the USS Enterprise.
After leaving the Navy, Fox went to the University of Toledo. However, she left due to personal challenges. To save money for her transition, Fox worked as a truck driver.
MMA fighting career
Fallon Fox started her professional mixed martial arts career in 2012. She quickly gained attention for her fighting skills.
Her first professional fight was in May 2012, where she won by TKO (Technical Knockout). She continued to win her next two fights, showing strong performances.
In October 2013, Fox had her first professional loss. She continued to compete, winning her last two fights in 2014. Her final professional fight was in September 2014, which she won by TKO.
Awards and recognition
In 2014, Fallon Fox was honored for her achievements. She was inducted into the National Gay and Lesbian Sports Hall of Fame. This recognized her as a pioneering figure in sports.
