Farhad Majidi (Persian: فرهاد مجیدی; born on June 3, 1976) is a famous Iranian football coach and former player. He recently managed Al Bataeh Club.

Farhad Majidi mostly played as an attacking midfielder for Esteghlal. He also scored two important goals for Al-Ain in the 2002–03 AFC Champions League.

Playing Career Highlights

Farhad Majidi played for Esteghlal Tehran for many seasons. His great skills led Rapid Vienna to sign him for one season. After that, he joined Al-Wasl in the UAE.

Success in the UAE League

While playing in the UAE League for Al-Wasl, Majidi scored many goals. He was a top scorer for the team. A big moment in his career was when he played on loan for Al-Ain. Majidi was a star in the 2002–03 AFC Champions League semi-final. His goal helped Al-Ain reach the final and win the trophy for the first time.

Over five years with Al-Wasl FC, Majidi scored more than 100 goals. He later joined other UAE clubs like Al-Nasr and Al-Ahli.

Return to Esteghlal

In 2007, Majidi returned to Esteghlal Tehran. He became a key player, often playing as an attacking midfielder. He helped Esteghlal win the league title in the 2008–09 season. He was also a top scorer in the AFC Champions League in the 2009–10 season.

Majidi left Esteghlal in 2011 to play for Al Gharrafa in Qatar. He later came back to Esteghlal in 2012. He helped the team win another league title. Farhad Majidi officially retired from playing football in October 2013.

International Matches for Iran

Farhad Majidi first played for the Iran national football team in December 1996. This was during the 1996 Asian Cup against Saudi Arabia. He was often called to play for "Team Melli," which is the nickname for the Iranian national team.

He was a popular player among fans. He retired from playing for the national team in September 2011.
