Farnsworth is a small, unincorporated community in western Ochiltree County, Texas, United States. It is located where State Highway 15 meets FM376. This spot is southwest of Perryton, which is the main town in Ochiltree County. Farnsworth sits at an elevation of about 2,995 feet (913 meters). Even though it's not a city, Farnsworth has its own post office with the ZIP code 79033. In 2000, the area covered by this ZIP code had a population of 106 people.

History of Farnsworth
Farnsworth was officially started in 1919. It grew up along the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway line. However, it wasn't the very first community in this area. Before Farnsworth, there was a place called Olds. Ranchers had settled there in the 1880s.
How Farnsworth Got Its Name
The community's name changed a few times before it became Farnsworth.
- It started as Olds.
- In 1905, a post office opened, and the name changed to Nogal.
- Then, in 1906, it was renamed Rogerstown.
- Finally, in 1920, a new post office opened at the current spot. This is when the community officially became Farnsworth. It was named after H. W. Farnsworth, who was a director for the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway.
