Fatima Lodhi, born on September 29, 1989, is a social activist from Pakistan. She is known as the "Champion of Diversity" because she works against colourism. Colourism is when people are treated differently based on their skin color, usually favoring lighter skin.

Early Life and Education
Fatima Lodhi was born in Karachi, Pakistan. She grew up in Islamabad. Her grandfather, Abbas Khan Lodhi, was a famous cricketer. Fatima went to St. Patrick's School for her early education. She also studied for a master's degree in Philosophy.
Fighting for Fairness: Fatima's Activism
Fatima Lodhi started her work as an activist in 2008. She helped with workshops for "inclusive education" with the British Council. These workshops teach how to include everyone, no matter their background. She also worked with a group called "We Can End Violence Against Women." In 2011, she joined Rotaract, a group for young leaders.
Fatima has spoken up for people who have been hurt by acid attacks. She has also worked to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and to stop violence against women.
The Dark is Divine Campaign
In September 2013, Fatima Lodhi started a worldwide campaign called Dark is Divine. This campaign fights against colourism. She created it for both women and men. Fatima has shared her own experiences of growing up and feeling pressure to lighten her skin. People told her, "no one will marry you" because of her darker skin.
Her campaign uses many ways to share its message. She uses social media, challenges advertising companies, and works with schools. She also holds seminars and does local community work. By 2024, the Dark is Divine movement was active in 20 different countries.
In January 2025, Fatima Lodhi spoke to Observer Diplomat, a magazine about international affairs. She talked about the challenges she faced after starting Dark is Divine. However, she also shared that since her campaign began, there are more dark-skinned women shown in Pakistani media. People are also having important talks about how stopping colourism helps everyone feel included.

Fatima Lodhi is also a motivational speaker. She has given talks at many events both in Pakistan and around the world.
In 2015, Fatima gave a TEDx talk at the University of Gujrat. TEDx talks are special events where people share "ideas worth spreading." She also led a discussion at the International Women Empowerment Conference.
In 2022, Fatima Lodhi was a guest speaker on the PTV WORLD TV show Rising Pakistan. She appeared on the show for World Day of Acceptance, a day to celebrate accepting all people.
