Faucett is a small community located in southern Buchanan County, Missouri, in the United States. It is known as an "unincorporated community" and a "census-designated place." This means it's a recognized area where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. In 2020, about 248 people lived in Faucett. It's found about sixteen miles north of Platte City, right along Interstate 29 (Missouri) and U.S. Route 71. Faucett is also part of the larger St. Joseph metropolitan area, which includes the city of St. Joseph, Missouri, and parts of Kansas.

History of Faucett
The community of Faucett got its name from a man named Robert Faucett. He was a local miller, which means he operated a mill that ground grain into flour. The Chicago Great Western Railroad helped establish, or create, the community in 1890. A post office, where people send and receive mail, has been operating in Faucett since 1891.
Local Landmarks
One of the most famous spots in Faucett is the Farris Truck Stop. It's located right on Interstate 29. This truck stop used to have a very unique advertisement: a 1974 Peterbilt truck with a 1965 Fruehauf trailer standing 50 feet high! Even though the truck stop closed in 2021, this tall truck sign still remains a local landmark.
Farris Strip Airport
Faucett is also home to a private airport called "Farris Strip." It was built by a person named Edwin "Dump" Farris in the 1950s. When it was first built, the runway was 1800 feet long. Later, it was made even longer, reaching 2100 feet.
At its busiest time, the airport had several businesses operating there. These included places where people could learn to fly airplanes. You could also rent or buy aircraft. There were even "aerial applicators," often called "crop dusters," which are planes used to spray crops from the air. At one point, 99 students were actively learning to fly at Farris Strip.
Meteorite Discoveries
Faucett is a special place for finding meteorites! Meteorites are pieces of rock or metal that fall to Earth from outer space. The area around Faucett has had the second-highest number of meteorites found in Missouri, after Ste. Genevieve. About 100 kilograms (which is about 220 pounds) of meteorites have been discovered here. Most of these are believed to have fallen during the summer of 1907.
