Fernando Sánchez Dragó (born October 2, 1936 – died April 10, 2023) was a famous Spanish writer and television host. He wrote many books, including novels and essays. He was also known for hosting TV shows.

About Fernando Sánchez Dragó
Fernando Sánchez Dragó was born in Madrid, Spain. His father, Fernando Sánchez Monreal, was a journalist. Sadly, his father passed away during the Spanish Civil War.
Fernando went to school at Colegio del Pilar and later studied at the Complutense University of Madrid. When he was young, he was part of the Communist Party of Spain. He was put in prison because he was against the government at that time, which was led by Francisco Franco. He then lived outside of Spain for seven years.
His Writing Career
Fernando Sánchez Dragó wrote more than 45 books. He won several important awards for his writing. In 1979, he received the Premio Nacional de Ensayo. This award was for his essay called Gárgoris y Habidis. Una historia mágica de España.
He also won the Premio Planeta in 1992. This was for his novel titled La prueba del laberinto. In 2006, he won the Fernando Lara Novel Award. This award was for his book Muertes paralelas. This book was about the life and passing of his father.
Later Life and Views
Later in his life, Fernando Sánchez Dragó supported some political ideas. He spoke at a meeting for the Vox party in 2018. He said he agreed with most of their plans.
Fernando Sánchez Dragó passed away on April 10, 2023. He was 86 years old. He had a heart attack at his home in Castilfrío de la Sierra.
