Starting His Music Journey
Fher Olvera started playing music when he was a teenager. He formed a band called Sombrero Verde in the 1980s. He played with his friends Gustavo Orozco and the Calleros brothers (Ulises, Juan Diego, and Abraham) in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Forming the Band Maná
Later, some band members changed their focus. Fher continued making music with Juan Diego Calleros (bass) and Ulises Calleros (lead guitar). A new drummer, Alejandro González, joined them. In 1987, the band changed its name to Maná.
The current members of Maná are:
- Fher Olvera — lead vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, rhythm guitar, harmonica.
- Alex González — drums, backup vocals.
- Juan Calleros — bass, acoustic bass guitar.
- Sergio Vallín — electric guitar, acoustic guitar.

Fher Olvera faced challenges early in life. His father passed away when Fher was just 7 years old. His mother also passed away later, while he was working on the album Drama y Luz. Fher has a child named Dalí.
He is very close with his bandmates, especially Ulises Calleros and Alex González. In 2022, Fher joined the band Coldplay on stage. He sang their hit song "Rayando el Sol" with them. This happened at a concert in Guadalajara, Mexico.
