Fiction Records is a record label that started in 1978. It was founded by Chris Parry. He created it mainly for the band The Cure.

Other bands that released music with Fiction Records in the early days included the Purple Hearts, Back To Zero, Associates, and Eat (band).

Fiction Records had its first big success when Wish by The Cure became the number one album in the United Kingdom in 1991. The Cure later left the label in 2001.

After a few years, Fiction Records was started again in 2004. This time, Joe Munns, Paul Smernicki, and Jim Chancellor relaunched it. It became part of Polydor. The first new song released by the revived label was a single by the band Snow Patrol.
