The Legend of Fieberbrunn
The name Fieberbrunn means "fever well." This name comes from an old story. A long time ago, a Tyrolean Countess named Margarete Maultasch was very sick with a fever. She drank water from a special fountain near the town's church. The legend says that after drinking from this well, she was completely healed!
Because of this amazing event, the town, which was once called Pramau, changed its name to Fieberbrunn. It means "fever well" to remember the healing fountain.
