Filippa Désirée Amanda Cay Reinfeldt (born Holmberg; 14 June 1967) is a Swedish politician. She belongs to the Moderate Party. From 2006 to 2014, she was the Health Service Commissioner for Stockholm County. In this role, she was in charge of health care, social affairs, and hospitals.
Before that, she was the mayor of Täby Municipality from 2005 to 2006. In July 2019, she became the Moderate Party's spokesperson for LGBT-issues. She was married to Fredrik Reinfeldt, who was the Prime Minister of Sweden. They were married from 1992 until their divorce in 2013.
Early Life and First Steps in Politics
Filippa Holmberg was born on 14 June 1967. Her father was Cay Holmberg. She grew up with her mother in Ålsten.
When she was 13, she joined the Moderate Youth League (MUF). This is a political group for young people. She finished high school in 1986. After school, she started working at Timbro. In 1989, she joined the central MUF group. She helped with a big project to encourage young people to vote. In 1990, she was chosen to be on the MUF board. Later, she became the leader of the Moderate Youth League in Solna Municipality.
Political Career
Filippa Reinfeldt became a local leader, called a Municipal Commissioner, in Täby Municipality in 2002. From 2005 to 2006, she was the Mayor of Täby. She also held several elected positions in the Stockholm City Council from 1991 to 1994. She was also a councillor in the Stockholm County Council starting in 1994.
After the 2006 general election, Filippa Reinfeldt was re-elected as Mayor in Täby. Her party, the Moderate Party, won over 50% of the votes there. She soon left this role to become the County Commissioner of Health Services. She worked in the administration led by Chris Heister.
In October 2014, she tried to become the Finance Commissioner. However, she lost the vote. After this, she announced that she would retire from politics. In December 2014, it was reported that Reinfeldt would join Aleris. This is a private health care company. She started working there in February 2015. She was responsible for business development and public relations.
Personal Life
Filippa Reinfeldt met her future husband, Fredrik Reinfeldt, in 1989. They were both leaders in the Moderate Youth League. They got married in 1992 in Skeppsholmskyrkan. Later, they moved to Täby.
On 7 March 2012, the couple announced that they were separating. They signed their divorce papers in July. Their divorce was finalized on 20 February 2013. They have three children together.
