Finch County is a special kind of area in New South Wales, Australia. It's one of 141 such areas, like a historical way of dividing up land. This county is bordered by the Narran River on its western side. To the south and east, you'll find the Barwon River. The northern edge of Finch County touches the border of Queensland. A well-known place within Finch County is Lightning Ridge, famous for its opals.
Finch County was named after a surveyor called Heneage Finch. He was the grandson of an important person named Heneage Finch, 3rd Earl of Aylesford.
