The First Baptist Church in Newton is a very old church in Newton, Massachusetts. It was started way back in 1788! The beautiful building you see today was built in 1888. You can find it at 848 Beacon Street in a part of Newton called Newton Centre. Because it's so important and historic, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 15, 1982.

The church building was finished in 1888. It was designed in a style called Richardsonian Romanesque. This style was made popular by a famous architect named Henry Hobson Richardson. The architect for this specific church was John Lyman Faxon.
