The First Unitarian Church is a very old building in Stoneham, Massachusetts. It used to be a church. This building is special because it shows off a cool style called Gothic Revival. It also has parts of the Stick style.

Exploring the Church Building
The First Unitarian Church building is located in downtown Stoneham. You can find it at the corner of Common and Central Streets. It's a single-story building made of wood. The outside is covered with wooden boards called clapboards.
What the Church Looked Like
When it was first built, the church had many interesting details. These details were part of the Stick style of architecture. For example, the front of the building had special diagonal and vertical wood patterns. The entrance also had a fancy cover with similar designs.
The church also had a tall tower. This tower once had an open belfry at the top. A belfry is where church bells are kept. Above the belfry was an eight-sided steeple. This steeple had small windows, called dormers, on four sides. Each dormer held a clock face. Some of these original fancy details have changed over time.

The Unitarian group in Stoneham started in 1858. They built this church building in 1869. The church was their home for many years. The Unitarian group used the building until 1995. After that, the group stopped meeting there.
