What the First Lady Does
The First Lady's job is not one you vote for. She doesn't get paid for it, and it doesn't have official rules. However, she has a very important and visible role in Georgia's government.
Being a Hostess
One of the main things the First Lady does is host events at the Georgia Governor's Mansion. She helps organize and attend official parties and meetings. She might go with the governor, or sometimes she goes in his place.
Supporting Important Causes
It's very common for the governor's wife to choose special causes to support. These causes are usually not about politics. For example, a past First Lady, Sandra Deal, worked hard to help people learn to read and get a good education across Georgia. Because of her efforts, she even won an award in 2016 called "Georgian of the Year."
