Geography of Firth
Firth covers a total area of about 0.54 square miles (1.4 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
The town sits on the eastern side of the Snake River. It also faces the Blackfoot Mountains, offering nice views.
History of Firth
Firth started as a settlement by Swedish people in 1885. The town was named after Lorenzo J. Firth. He was an English immigrant who donated land for the railroad. The railroad station was named after him in 1903.
The town's post office was officially opened in 1905. Firth also has a cemetery, which was known as Dye cemetery before 1935.
