What's the Weather Like in Fishvar?

Seasons of the Year

Fishvar has three main seasons each year: winter, spring, and a very hot summer.

Winter Weather

Fishvar is surrounded by the Zagros Mountains. These mountains block rain clouds from reaching southern Iran. Because of this, Fishvar does not get much rain. It also rarely snows. Sometimes, there is snow on the high mountain peaks, but it usually melts within a week.

Even with little rain, sudden heavy downpours can happen. These storms can cause damage to fields and old buildings. During winter nights, temperatures can drop below 0°C (32°F). The average temperature in winter is usually between 3°C and 14°C (37°F to 57°F).

Springtime in Fishvar

Spring is a time for new life and farming in Fishvar. The land becomes green with many different plants. These plants are a great food source for animals that eat plants. The weather starts to get warmer and milder. Temperatures are usually between 18°C and 27°C (64°F to 81°F). This warmer weather is a sign that summer is coming.

Hot Summers

Summers in Fishvar are very hot and dry. There is no rain during this season. All the water sources on the ground dry up. People in Fishvar save water in special reservoirs called Beka (برکه). However, these reservoirs can sometimes attract bacteria.

Summer temperatures can reach as high as 56°C (133°F). This extreme heat makes it difficult for many families to stay. Because of the heat, many people move to cooler areas during the summer months.
