Larestan County (Persian: شهرستان لارستان) is a special area called a county in Fars Province in Iran. Its main city, or capital, is Lar. This county is home to many cities, including Lar, Evaz, Beyram, Banaruiyeh, Fishvar, Juyom, Khur, Latifi & Emad Deh. It's also divided into six smaller parts called districts: the Central District, Beyram, Evaz District, Banaruiyeh, Sahray-ye Bagh, and Juyom.

Larestan County is part of a larger historical area that also includes other counties in Fars Province, like Lar, Khonj, Gerash County, and Lamerd. It also includes Bastak County in Hormozgan.
The People of Larestan
The people who live in Larestan are called Larestani people. They speak the Larestani language. Most Larestani people are of Persian background. Many of them follow the Sunni branch of Islam. The Larestani people often call themselves "Khodmooni".
A Look at Larestan's History
During the Middle Ages, a local ruling family called the Miladian dynasty governed Laristan. However, in 1610, an invasion by the Safavid Empire ended their rule. For a short time in the 1200s, Larestan became an important place for trade and business in southern Persia. Even so, Larestan was usually a quiet region. It rarely got involved in the big political events and conflicts happening in the rest of Persia.
