Exploring Flanagan's Location
Flanagan is found on the west side of Livingston County. A main road, Illinois Route 116, runs along the southern edge of the village. This road can take you about 12 miles east to Pontiac, which is the main city of the county. If you go west on Route 116, you'll reach Woodford in about 10 miles.
Parks and Green Spaces
Flanagan has a total area of about 0.53 square miles, and all of it is land. On the west side of the village, there's a small man-made lake called Legion Lake. It used to be four separate lakes, but some were filled in. A walking path goes around the lake, and there's a park shelter where you can relax.
Another small park, Artesian Park, is on the east side of town. It has two picnic shelters, a tennis court, and playground equipment for kids.
Village Center and Local Businesses
In the middle of Flanagan, there's a small area with businesses, about one block long. Just north of this area, you'll find the Flanagan Co-op. This is a large complex with several grain elevators and silos. They are located at Main and Lumber streets.
