Floraville is a friendly suburb located in the City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia. It's about 17 kilometres (11 mi) southwest of Newcastle's main city area. You can find Floraville on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie, just north of the town of Belmont.

A Look Back: Floraville's History
The land where Floraville now stands was first divided into smaller blocks in the 1920s. This happened at the same time as nearby areas like Belmont North and Jewells. However, most of the homes and buildings weren't built until the 1960s.
For a long time, a large part of the eastern side of Floraville was farmland. This land belonged to the Gatt family. Over the years, as more people wanted to live in Floraville, some of this farmland was used to build new houses.

Floraville is home to a primary school. This school first opened its doors in 1967. Today, it's a busy place with around 550 students learning and growing there.
