Where is Foerster Peak?
Foerster Peak is in the southeastern part of Yosemite National Park. It sits near the boundary of the Ansel Adams Wilderness. This mountain is one of three peaks in the area listed by the Sierra Peaks Section.
You can find Foerster Peak southeast of well-known spots like Half Dome and Clouds Rest. It is also east of Mount Starr King. Other nearby peaks include Mount Ansel Adams and Mount Clark.
How Foerster Peak Got Its Name
Foerster Peak was named after Lewis Foerster. He was a member of the U.S. military. Lewis Foerster was on duty in Yosemite National Park in the year 1895.
