Where is Fonfría Located?
Fonfría is found in a mountain area called the Sierra de Cucalón. This region is known for its beautiful natural scenery. The village is also very close to where the Huerva River begins its journey.
Geography and Natural Surroundings
The village sits at a high elevation, about 1,247 meters (or 4,091 feet) above sea level. This high location means it has cool temperatures, especially compared to lower areas. The name "Fonfría" actually means "cold fountain" or "cold spring," which might be a clue about its weather or natural water sources.
The Sierra de Cucalón is a mountain range that is part of the Iberian System, a large mountain system in Spain. This area is important for its natural environment and local wildlife.
