Club History and Achievements
Forfar West End Football Club was started in 1892. They have a long history in Scottish junior football.
Early Years and First Championship
Up until the 2005–06 season, the team played in the Tayside Premier League. This was part of the Scottish Junior Football Association's East Region. They won the championship of the older Tayside Junior Football League system once. This big win happened in 1991.
Changes and Promotions
The Scottish Junior Football Association changed its structure in 2006. Forfar West End then found themselves in the East Region, North Division. This division had 12 teams. They had a great first season in this new division. They won the championship and were promoted to the Premier League.
In the 2007–08 season, they did very well again. They finished as runners-up in the East Premier League. This earned them another promotion, this time to the Super League. However, they were relegated back down the very next season.
A Difficult Period
The club faced some tough times in 2011. They lost several players and coaching staff. Because of this, they could not put together a team for two games. In October 2011, the club decided to take a break. They withdrew from all competitive games for the rest of that season. This is called going into "abeyance."
Making a Comeback
Forfar West End returned to play the very next season. They started back in the East Region North Division. The team worked hard to climb back up the leagues. They earned two promotions in five seasons. By the 2017–18 season, they were back in the East Super League. This showed their determination and spirit.
