Fort Supply Lake is a cool place in Woodward County, Oklahoma. It's about 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Fort Supply and 12 miles (19 km) northwest of Woodward. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages this lake.

The lake's surface covers about 1,800 acres (7.3 km2). That's a lot of water! Next to the lake, there's also a huge area of public land. This land is about 6,000 acres (24 km2) big. It's managed by the Corps of Engineers and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. People can go hunting there.

How the Lake Was Made

Fort Supply Lake was created by building a dam across Wolf Creek. Work on the dam started in 1938. The lake was filled with water in 1942.

The main reasons for building the lake were for flood control and to store water. Flood control means it helps stop rivers from overflowing. Storing water means it keeps water for other uses. The lake's normal water level is about 2,400 feet (730 m) high. It can hold a maximum of 13,900 acre-feet (17,100,000 m3) of water. The shoreline around the lake is about 26 miles (42 km) long.

Fort Supply Lake is a great spot for outdoor fun! You can go fishing there. There are three special fishing piers that are easy for everyone to use. You can also fish from the shore.

Many different kinds of fish live in the lake. Some popular ones include crappie, walleye, and different types of bass. You can also catch channel catfish and flathead catfish.

Hunting Area

The land next to Fort Supply Lake is a public hunting area. It's managed by the Corps of Engineers and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. This area is open all year round.

Hunters often look for bobwhite quail and deer here. Other animals that can be hunted include wild turkey, pheasant, and dove. You might also find waterfowl, squirrels, and rabbits.
