Forthill Cricket Ground is a special place for cricket in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, Scotland. It's a sports field where cricket matches are played. People have been playing cricket here for a very long time, since at least 1884! That's when two local teams, Forfarshire and Aberdeenshire, played their first recorded match.
The Scottish national team first played at Forthill in 1913. They played against a team called Northamptonshire.

Forthill's Cricket History
Forthill Cricket Ground has hosted many important cricket games. These include six "first-class matches" between 1924 and 1999. A first-class match is a long, multi-day game played by top teams, often with international players.
Early Important Matches
The first big first-class match at Forthill was in 1924. Scotland played against the Irish national team. Later, in 1932, the Indian national team visited and played a first-class match against Scotland here.
Visiting Teams and Later Games
After a break, first-class cricket returned to Forthill in 1951. Scotland played against Worcestershire, another strong team. The ground also welcomed the New Zealand national team in 1978 and the Irish team again in 1992.
The last first-class match at Forthill was when Scotland played against the South Africa Academy team. Throughout the 1900s, many other international teams also visited Forthill to play matches, even if they weren't always "first-class" games.
Home of Forfarshire Cricket Club
Today, Forthill Cricket Ground is still very active. It is the home ground for the Forfarshire Cricket Club. This club continues the long tradition of cricket at Forthill.
