History of Forthill Cricket Ground
Forthill Cricket Ground opened its doors on May 22, 1880. The very first match was between Forfarshire and Glenalmond College.
In 1926, a new stone gateway was built at the ground. It was made to honor W. R. Sharp. He was a captain for Forfarshire for 40 years. He was also the first player from the club to play for Scotland. The gateway still stands today, remembering his contributions.
