The Bangladesh women's national cricket team represents Bangladesh in international women's cricket matches. They are also known as the "Female Tigers" or "Tigresses." The team started playing international matches in July 2007, winning their first two games against Thailand. They also won the 2007 ACC Women's Tournament.
In 2011, Bangladesh was given "One-Day International" (ODI) status after doing well in the 2011 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier. This meant they could play longer international matches. They then played in their first major international tournament, the 2014 ICC Women's World Twenty20, as the host country. The team has become one of the strongest women's cricket teams in Asia. They made their first appearance at the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup and have played in every World Twenty20 since 2014.
In April 2021, the International Cricket Council (ICC) gave permanent "Test" and "One Day International" (ODI) status to all women's teams that are full members of the ICC.

Team History and Achievements
Winning the 2018 Asia Cup
At the 2018 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup in Malaysia, Bangladesh played very well. They won 4 out of 5 matches to reach the final. In the final, they beat India, which was a big achievement! This was the first time any team other than India had won the Women's Asia Cup.
First World Cup Appearance in 2022
Bangladesh played in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup for the first time in 2022. They qualified based on their ODI ranking after the qualifying tournament was stopped early. They had won 2 out of 3 matches at that point. In the World Cup, they finished 7th, winning one match against Pakistan. Because they qualified for the World Cup, they also earned a spot in the 2022–2025 ICC Women's Championship.
Recent Tournaments
- 2022 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup: Bangladesh hosted this tournament in 2022. They finished in 5th place, winning 2 matches.
- 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup: Bangladesh qualified for this World Cup by winning the qualifying tournament in 2022. They were in Group A but lost all four of their matches.
- 2024 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup: As a full member, Bangladesh automatically qualified for this tournament and reached the semi-finals.
- 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup: Bangladesh was supposed to host this World Cup, which would have given them an automatic spot. Bangladesh won their first game in the main tournament since 2014, beating Scotland, but did not advance past the group stage.
- 2025 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup: Bangladesh qualified for the 2025 World Cup by finishing 2nd in the qualifying tournament. They had a record of 3 wins and 2 losses.
