Fourmile, also known as Redlawn, is a small place in Shelby County, Alabama, United States. It's called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
Fourmile is about 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of Columbiana. It is also about 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Wilsonville. Some of the first families to settle in Fourmile came from Lexington County and Newberry County, South Carolina.

History of Fourmile Churches
Fourmile is home to some very old churches. These churches played a big part in the community's history.
Fourmile Baptist Church
Fourmile Baptist Church was started on August 25, 1824. Back then, it was known as Bethesda Baptist Church. This church is the oldest one that has been open continuously in the Shelby Baptist Association.
The Shelby Baptist Association itself was founded at Bethesda Baptist Church in 1852. Fourmile Baptist Church is also one of the oldest churches still around in the Alabama Baptist Convention.
One important early member of the church was John W. Teague. He was one of the first people to settle in Columbiana. His son, Eldred B. Teague, also lived in Fourmile. Eldred B. Teague had a farm there which he called Red Lawn.
Blue Springs Methodist Church
Fourmile was also where Blue Springs Methodist Church was located. This church was founded in 1890. Sadly, Blue Springs Methodist Church closed its doors in 2004.
Redlawn Post Office
A post office was opened in Fourmile in 1898. It was named Redlawn, after Eldred B. Teague's farm. The post office was located at the home of Pickens Miner. He was the first postmaster, which means he was in charge of the post office. The Redlawn post office stayed open until 1904.
