Wilsonville is a small town in Shelby County, Alabama, United States. It is located in the southeastern part of the county, northeast of Columbiana. The town was named after Elisha Wilson, one of the first settlers in the area.
Wilsonville became an official town in 1897. By 1900, it was the biggest community in Shelby County. It had 1,095 people, which was just a few more than the county seat, Columbiana. However, Wilsonville's population dropped after that. It didn't reach its 1900 population again until 1990. In the 2020 census, the town had 1,857 residents.

Where is Wilsonville?
Wilsonville is found at coordinates 33°14′6″N 86°29′11″W / 33.23500°N 86.48639°W. It is in the southeastern part of Shelby County. Some parts of the town reach the western shore of the Coosa River.
Alabama State Route 25 is the main road that goes through Wilsonville. It runs from northeast to southwest through the center of town. Using this road, you can travel about 9 miles (14 km) northeast to Harpersville. You can also go about 9 miles (14 km) southwest to Columbiana, which is the county seat of Shelby County.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that Wilsonville covers about 11.0 square miles (28.12 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 9.9 square miles (27.54 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 1.1 square miles (0.58 square kilometers), is water.
