Source of the Tagus River
One very special thing about Frías de Albarracín is that it's home to the source of the Tagus River. The Tagus is the longest river in the Iberian Peninsula. It flows through both Spain and Portugal.
The river starts at a place called Fuente de García. This spot is located within the Frías de Albarracín area. It is almost 1,600 meters (about 5,250 feet) above sea level. It's amazing to think that a huge river starts from such a specific point!
