A Look Back at Frampton's History

Frampton has an interesting past, especially with its name and services.

The Changing Names of the Post Office

Did you know Frampton's post office had a few different names over the years? When it first opened on April 1, 1875, it was called Cungegong.

In June 1889, its name changed to Frampton. But just one month later, in July, it was renamed Moatefield! Finally, in 1905, it became Frampton again and kept that name until it closed in 1965.

The Railway Station

A railway station was built in Frampton to serve the local community. It opened in 1878, making it easier for people and goods to travel.

However, the station eventually closed in 1975. Today, the building has been taken down.
