Frances M. Goodwin (1855–1929) was a talented American sculptor. She was born in Newcastle, Indiana. Frances Goodwin created many important sculptures during her life. She is known for her detailed busts and statues.

Early Life and Education

Frances Goodwin started learning art in Indianapolis. She briefly studied at the Indiana Art Association. Later, she went to the Chicago Art Institute. There, she learned from a famous sculptor named Lorado Taft. She also studied at the Art Students League in New York. Another well-known sculptor, Daniel Chester French, was her teacher there.

Famous Works and Exhibitions

One of Frances Goodwin's important statues was called "Education." This statue was shown at the 1893 Columbian Exposition. This was a huge world's fair held in Chicago. Her "Education" statue was displayed in the Indiana State Building at the fair.
