Francess Lin Lantz (born August 27, 1952 – died November 22, 2004) was an American writer. She started her career as a children's librarian. Later, she became a popular fiction writer.

For over 20 years, Lantz wrote more than 30 books. Many of these were bestsellers for young people. Her 1997 romance novel, Someone to Love, was chosen for the American Library Association Best Books for Young Adults list. Her book Stepsister from Planet Weird (published in 1996) was even made into a Disney Channel TV movie in 2000.

Early Life and Education

Francess Lin Lantz was born in Trenton, New Jersey. She grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. When she was younger, she dreamed of becoming a rock musician and composer.

She went to Dickinson College in Pennsylvania, graduating in 1974. The next year, in 1975, she earned a master's degree in library sciences from Simmons College in Boston.

Later Years and Passing

Francess Lin Lantz passed away in Santa Barbara, California, in 2004. She was 52 years old. She died after an illness.
