Francina Armengol Socias (born 11 August 1971) is a Spanish politician. She is a member of the Socialist Party of the Balearic Islands. Currently, she serves as the President of the Congress of Deputies. This is a very important role in the Spanish government. She has been a member of the Congress of Deputies for the Balearic Islands since 2023.

Early Life and Education
Francina Armengol was born in Inca, a town on the island of Mallorca, on 11 August 1971. Her father, Juan Armengol, was also involved in politics. He served as the mayor of Inca from 1991 to 1995.
Francina joined the PSOE political party in 1991. She studied pharmacy at the University of Barcelona. After that, she continued her studies with a special degree in dermopharmacy. She also studied law at the Open University of Catalonia.
First Steps in Politics
Francina Armengol began her political career in 1997. She was a deputy secretary for the PSOE party in Mallorca until 1998. From 1998 to 2000, she worked as a councillor in her hometown of Inca.
In 1999, she became a member of the Parliament of the Balearic Islands. She held this position for many years. During her time in parliament, she helped create the Parity Law. This law aims to ensure equal representation for men and women. From 2007 to 2011, she was the President of the Island Council of Mallorca.

Leading the Balearic Islands
From 2015 to 2023, Francina Armengol served as the President of the Balearic Islands. She was the first woman ever to hold this high office. Role in the Spanish Parliament
In the 2023 Spanish general election, Francina Armengol was elected to the 15th Congress of Deputies. She represents the Balearic Islands. In August 2023, she was chosen to be the speaker, or President of the Congress of Deputies. She received support from other parties, including those that support Catalan independence. This role makes her a key figure in the Spanish national government.

In December 2021, Francina Armengol tested positive for COVID-19. She has two children.
