Francisco Fernández Ordóñez (born June 22, 1930 – died August 7, 1992) was an important Spanish politician. He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Spain from 1985 until 1992. He worked under Prime Minister Felipe González as part of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) government.

Early Life and Education
Francisco Fernández Ordóñez was born in Madrid, Spain, on June 22, 1930. He studied law in Madrid. He also studied at Harvard University in the United States.
Political Career
Minister of Finance and Justice
After finishing his studies, Francisco Fernández Ordóñez started working for the Spanish government in 1959. He became a high-ranking official in the Ministry of Economy. In 1977, his small Social Democratic Party joined the larger Union of the Democratic Centre (UCD) party. This party was led by Adolfo Suárez.
Fernández Ordóñez became the Minister of Finance from 1977 to 1980. After that, he served as the Minister of Justice. During his time as Justice Minister, he helped make divorce legal in Spain.
Minister of Foreign Affairs
In 1982, he left the UCD party. He then created a new small party called the Democratic Action Party (Spain) (PAD). Later, he joined the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). When the PSOE won the general election on October 28, 1982, he became a member of the Spanish Parliament.
He was made president of the Banco Exterior de España until 1986. Later, he became the Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1985. In this role, he represented Spain to other countries around the world. He served as a deputy for Madrid and Zaragoza during his career.
Later Life
Francisco Fernández Ordóñez passed away on August 7, 1992. He was 62 years old.
