Franck Roger Queudrue was born in Paris, France, on August 27, 1978. He began his football career in the youth academy of Lens.
Club Career Highlights
Playing for Lens
Franck played 41 games for Lens's reserve team, scoring seven goals, starting from the 1997–98 season. He joined the main team during the 1999–2000 season. His first game in Ligue 1 was on October 16, 1999, against Montpellier. In his first season, he played 16 league games and six games in the UEFA Cup. He scored his first league goal in his third game, which was a winning goal against Marseille. He played often the next season, but only made two short appearances in 2001–02 before moving to England.
Time at Middlesbrough
In October 2001, Queudrue joined the English Premier League club Middlesbrough on a loan. This move became permanent at the end of the season. He stayed with Middlesbrough until the summer of 2006. He usually played as a left-back, but he could also play as a centre-back or even in midfield. He was also known for being good at taking free kicks and penalties.
Fans really liked him when he scored in his second game for the club against North East rivals Sunderland. Middlesbrough bought him permanently in May 2002 for about £2.5 million. He was part of the Middlesbrough team that won the 2004 League Cup final by beating Bolton Wanderers. He also played in the 2006 UEFA Cup final, where Middlesbrough lost to Sevilla.
In 2006, Franck considered becoming a British citizen. He had hoped to become an Irish citizen, but he found out he wasn't eligible because his Irish ancestor was a great-grandfather, not a grandfather.
Moving to Fulham
Franck Queudrue joined Fulham in July 2006, signing a four-year contract. He played regularly for Fulham under manager Chris Coleman. However, when a new manager, Lawrie Sanchez, took over, Franck was allowed to leave because he didn't agree with the team's new playing style. He scored one league goal for Fulham, which was a last-minute goal against Charlton Athletic.
Playing for Birmingham City

On August 3, 2007, Queudrue signed a three-year contract with Birmingham City. The transfer fee was around £2.5 million. After Birmingham was moved down to a lower league in 2008, one of the club's owners, David Sullivan, made some comments about the team's players. He later apologized to Franck, and Franck accepted it.
Franck returned to the team the next season and played very well. Fans and a local newspaper, the Birmingham Mail, voted him player of the season. He even received a special message of congratulations from David Sullivan.
In March 2010, Queudrue joined Colchester United on loan for the rest of the 2009–10 season. However, an injury meant he only played three games. When he returned to Birmingham, the club announced that he would leave when his contract ended in June 2010.
Back to Lens
After leaving Birmingham, Queudrue trained with his first club, Lens. On September 27, he rejoined Lens until the end of the season. He had considered joining a Greek club called Panionios, but he decided not to for family reasons.
Time at Red Star
On August 1, 2012, Queudrue signed a two-year contract with Red Star. He scored his first goal for the club in a 3–0 win against Cherbourg. He scored his second goal in a 1–1 draw with Quevilly.
International Career
In 2000, while playing for Lens, Franck Queudrue played one game for the France B national football team. He had hoped to play for the Republic of Ireland because he thought he had an Irish grandfather. However, it was later found that his Irish ancestor was a great-grandfather, which meant he was not allowed to play for Ireland.
