Frank Lee Beard (born June 11, 1949) is a talented American drummer. He is best known for being the long-time drummer of the famous rock band ZZ Top.

Frank Beard's Early Life
Frank Beard was born in Frankston, Texas. He attended Irving High School in Irving, Texas.
Frank Beard's Music Career

Before joining ZZ Top, Frank Beard played drums in several other bands. He was part of a group called the Outlaws, where he played with Dusty Hill. Dusty Hill would later become his bandmate in ZZ Top.
In May 1969, Beard joined a band called The Moving Sidewalks. This band later became ZZ Top in July 1969. Frank Beard also introduced Billy Gibbons to Dusty Hill, bringing the three future band members together. They worked hard to create their special "Texas boogie-blues-rock" sound.
Their first album, ZZ Top's First Album, was released in January 1971. On this album, Beard was called "Rube Beard." He was also called "Rube Beard" on their third album, Tres Hombres. However, on their second album, Rio Grande Mud, he was credited with his real name. Since 1975, he has always been credited with his real name on every ZZ Top album, starting with Fandango!.
Frank Beard's Personal Life
Frank Beard married Debbie Meredith in November 1982. They are still married today and have three children together.
Frank Beard lives in Richmond, Texas. There, he owns and runs a place called the Top 40 Ranch. He enjoys playing golf and is known in his local community for taking part in golf tournaments and other events. For a long time, Frank Beard was the only member of ZZ Top who did not have a long beard, which was funny because of the band's name. However, he grew a short beard in 2013.
