Exploring Franklin's Communities
Franklin is home to several smaller places known as unincorporated communities. These are areas with a group of homes or businesses that don't have their own local government. Instead, they are part of the larger town of Franklin.
- Maple Grove is a community mostly found west of where County Road G and Taus Road meet.
- Menchalville is another community. You can find it where County Road K and County Road NN/Menchalville Road cross, just west of Kellnersville.
- Reifs Mills is a community located on Reifs Mills Road, east of County Road T. This area got its name from the Reif brothers. They used to own a mill there a long time ago.
- Taus is an unincorporated community at the intersection of County Road J and Taus Road. It was named after a town in the Czech Republic called Domažlice, which is also known as Taus in German.
