Fraser is a small city in Dodge Township, Boone County, Iowa, United States. It is located right by the Des Moines River. In 2020, the city had a population of 101 people. Fraser is part of a larger area that includes the cities of Boone and Ames in Iowa.

A Look Back: Fraser's Story
Fraser was officially started in 1893. It was planned out by a company called the Fraser Coal Company. This company was involved in mining coal.
For a few decades, coal mining was a big part of Fraser's economy. However, the coal mines eventually ran out of coal.
Today, the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad still runs through the town. This railroad is known for its scenic routes.
